The Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) supports Church schools in preparing for Inspections by both Ofsted and SIAMS.
Ofsted inspects all maintained schools and academies in England under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005.
Religious Education/Collective Worship
Church of England Voluntary Controlled schools and academies which were formerly VC - Ofsted inspects RE but not Collective Worship. CW is inspected under a SIAMS inspection.
Church of England Voluintary Aided Schools and academies which were formerly VA - Ofsted does NOT inspect RE and Collective Worship. These are inspected under a SIAMS inspection.
The Diocesan Director of Education (DDE) will (by invitation) attend OfSTED feedback meetings on the final day of an OfSTED inspection.
