Environmental Fundraising

The Diocese has committed to becoming net zero carbon by 2030. Increasingly we are seeing successful environmental projects amongst parishes, and support through grants and funders is available to the right projects. When we speak of environmental projects, what type of thing do we mean?

  • Solar panels
  • Heat pump installation
  • Insulation works
  • Promoting biodiversity
  • Environmental education
  • Greening of transport (cycle to church, car charging points).

This is not an exhaustive list.

Ways in which parishes can raise funds for environmental projects include:

  • Grants from trusts and foundations
  • Individual donations
  • Events fundraising
  • Major donors
  • Legacies
  • Corporate support
  • Public sector funding.
