Saxmundham Town Christmas Event – St John’s Church, Saxmundham

St John’s Church used their growth fund to take part and form an active presence in the Saxmundham Town Christmas Event. The church put up a large event tent on the High Street outside their church shop, and greeted people with chocolates, mince pies, non alcoholic fruit drinks and goody bags for the children. Each goody bag contained a pencil saying ‘Happy Birthday Jesus ‘, a small book with the Christmas story, a small toy and some sweets. Also purchased was a large screen of a stable where passers-by could have their photo taken in the nativity scene. These were well received and increased the visibility of the church - the town interacted consistently. The Town Council are also keen for the church to be involved in future events.

At Easter, it was decided that an Easter Craft morning would be put together on Easter Saturday, with over 70 children and their parents in attendance. In addition to crafts, children who attended received a goody bag with an Easter Egg and a book with the Easter story in.
