Growing in Depth Bible Studies - St John's Elmswell

St John’s Elmswell, Lavenham use their funding of £200 to grow in depth through Bible studies.

A total of 14 people have joined St John’s in the last two years to study the bible either with the Rector on an individual basis or in small groups within the parish. The church is currently in the process of purchasing new copies of Mark’s gospels for newcomers to be able to use and engage with the gospel on a deeper level.

Many of the people attending are families with children -  who are being reached out to as well. The church hosted a family social gathering to encourage fellowship and bonding with one another and a total of 26 people took part – 24 of which have joined the church congregation in the last two years, 14 of which were children and four of which were families new to the Christian faith. The gathering was a great success, and those who attended are looking forward to the next event!

The parish is planning another family social event, due to take place some time in November or December this year. There is also planned to be conversations on confirmations with the new families in the next Bible Study meetings.
