A beautiful, sunny day in early October hosted Barrow School pupils for a special Creation Prayer Trail around the churchyard. Designed to be interactive, the children were guided to think about people and the world itself, and the pressures there are in this current climate. The whole school attended. Each class of 30 were split into 4 or 5 groups and spent 5-7 minutes at one of the ‘stations’ before heading off to the next.
The children were very much aware of the conflicts going on in the world currently. They were also very conscious of the environment – and were encouraged to pray for many of these issues. One station had water bowls where children could write their prayers and float them on the water. One station gave them the opportunity to place hearts on a world map where they particularly wanted God’s healing. Another station provided them with bubbles which they blew as prayers to heaven.
