Suffolk Carols on the radio this Christmas Day

Lightwave has joined with Suffolk Sound Radio to promote community carol singing across Suffolk.

Suffolk Carols is a joint initiative from Suffolk Sounds Radio and Lightwave to promote carol singing in all sorts of venues, strengthen community and raise funds for local charities.

A huge variety of carol events in December have joined in, including those held in pubs all round the county, and even Santa and his elves have been joining in.

Lightwave provided customisable carol sheets and invitations and Suffolk Sound gave lots of publicity.

There is still time to take part and you can register your 'Suffolk Carols' event here, and the charity you are raising funds for and this will be advertised on Suffolk Sounds radio programmes and via the Suffolk Carols Facebook page.

There is also going to be a special Christmas Day programme featuring interviews with some of the carol event leaders.

The initiative was led by Lightwave Leader Archdeacon Sally Gaze following a conversation with Rob Dungar, Co Founder of Suffolk Sound.

Sally says,  “Carols bring communities together and are so much fun.  Lightwave’s dream is for a wave of God’s love across Suffolk and singing carols together is perfect for sharing good cheer and loving your neighbour.”

Lightwave Rural Chaplain, Graham Miles, who presents the 'Faith Matters' show on Suffolk Sound every Sunday morning, has been out to many of the carol events and interviewed people about the good causes they are raising funds for as well as their favourite carol and details of their event. Graham brings a wealth of local knowledge and a farming background to the 'Faith Matters' programme which also will shine through the show he is presenting on Christmas day at 2.00pm.
