#LiveLent 2022 church resources: Embracing JusticeThis year, we are remembering the cry of the Prophet Isaiah: ‘Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice?’ Live Lent: Embracing Justice is the Church of England’s theme for Lent 2022. It invites us to examine our own lives truthfully, to see the world more deeply and to pray – for the church and the world far and near – that ‘justice may roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream’ (Amos 4.24). Both the Archbishop of Canterbury’s 2022 Lent Book, Embracing Justice (SPCK), and the daily reflections booklet for adults (CHP) have been written by Isabelle Hamley.
This will be supported by a wide range of free digital resources for individuals, groups and churches available via the Church of England website. Visit this page to sign up to our reflection emails. Labours of LoveThis is a flexible downloadable resource for running a Lent course locally. It is designed to support small groups who want to reach out with kindness and partnership in their local community and is ideal to include people exploring faith. The bible-based discussions are fun and help participants to make the link between practical service in their community and living faith. Supported by St Edmundsbury Cathedral and the Lightwave Community, this course also draws on ancient Benedictine wisdom on how prayer and work are important in forming a Christian rhythm of life.
