Location: Edmund Room, St Edmundsbury Cathedral
Are you searching for new and exciting material to revitalise your outreach and welcome to young families? Do you want to enhance your baptism preparation?
Starting Rite is a baby-centred course run over five weeks for mums/dads/carers and their babies. It offers a variety of multi-sensory activities for babies aged 0−1: including singing, story-telling, baby-massage and play. This play is used to explore the symbols and meaning of baptism and of the life-long Christian faith journey. This course is led by author the Revd Jenny Paddiston an Anglican priest from the Diocese of Ely. 'I am running my first course through the summer in Sproughton. I am delighted that eight mums and their babies are already booked in. I attended a training in Wisbech early this year having read the book; I was so excited by the resource. It will generate some wonderful opportunities for faith related conversations with parents in a safe and supportive environment. All of the people who I met on the course who had experienced a course in action were eagerly sharing anecdotes about its value and commented on how much the parents enjoyed the experience..not to mention the babies.'
