Church of England represented at the Suffolk Show
Wednesday 30th May 2018
More than 2,000 visitors are expected at the Church of England’s marquee, with families joining the county’s Bishop Martin playing a variety of fun activities including a retro arcade machine, buzz wire and dress up photo booth.
Families visiting the buzzing Church marquee are also helping make a sculpture of an angel out paper that will later tour Suffolk, enjoying hourly puppet shows from 11am, free refreshments and live music amongst a host of activities during both days this year.
Bishop Martin said he was thrilled to see so many people enjoying the Church of England marquee and the show.
He said: “The show is an ideal opportunity to display how our churches connect with Suffolk communities in so many different ways. We have such a wide variety of activities to appeal to people of all ages, coupled with contemporary worship, opportunities to receive prayer, and films highlighting the impact of our voluntary work within communities right across Suffolk. We are showing as much as possible the different activities happening in our churches, how we connect with people, and the difference we are making. You will be able to join with us via our Facebook and Twitter feeds where we hope to post live videostreams, questions and polls throughout the days. Follow us #suffolkconnect #cofeconnect"
Bishop Mike said: “One of the wonderful treasures of Suffolk are its churches and just a taste of the creativity, energy and diversity of church engagement and activity can be seen at the Church of England marquee.”
The Church is at Tradestand White 603 on the Flower Show Avenue next to Adnams Beach Eats - and opposite Ipswich Town Football Club and BBC Radio Suffolk for the Suffolk Show on May 30 and 31.
