Rural Ministry Conference
Saturday 21 October 2017 at 10:30am
Location: Chamberlin Hall
Open to all. A day on the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Christian congregations and their leaders in rural settings across the diocese.
- Canon Sally Gaze (Dean of Rural Mission Consultancy). Sally Gaze has been in rural parish ministry for over 10 years and is currently the Team Rector of a multi-parish benefice in Norfolk which incorporates a rural cell church. She has a longstanding passion for sharing the gospel in today's culture, chairs the national Fresh Expressions Rural Hub and has written on Rural Church - for example ‘Mission-shaped and Rural’, and was a member of the working group which produced Mission-shaped Church.
- Jerry Marshall. Jerry is CEO of the Arthur Rank Centre, the churches’ rural resource centre, where he has been developing a range of projects including leadership training, rural learning communities and the Germinate conference. With his home church, he helped plant a congregation in his local village hall in 1993 which he continues to lead.
- Canon William Burke left the army in his early forties to train for the priesthood at Cuddesdon. He was Rector for 20 years of six village parishes in North Cambridgeshire and is now a canon emeritus of Peterborough Cathedral and currently Rural Dean for Fincham and Feltwell, a group of 32 village parishes in the Ely diocese.
- Canon Dave Gardner (Director of Mission and Ministry)
